Update

I haven't posted in a while but have been very busy.  I made it through the mid quarter classes and only have two more weeks before this quarter finals.  It has been difficult to juggle the classes as well as the work I am doing for the artist that hired me.  I absolutely love it all though!

The shrugs I have done so far for Jan are amazing and really love making them.  I am finishing up a design for a cardigan for her to paint also.  I am going to be doing two collections within this coming year and using two of her paintings for my prints.  I am so excited about these two collections and hoping to show one of them at 2013's Dress Code in Chicago.  Wish me luck!

Wonderful Opportunity

I have just received a wonderful opportunity to work with an artist that is creating her own textiles and will be needing a designer to create garments using them.  I am going to her show tomorrow night to view her first line done by another college student.  I am very excited about this.  I saw her artwork that she has online and it is beautiful! I am impressed with the colors she uses and the fluidity of the compositions.  I pray this is partnership that will be good match for us both.

First Quarter

I am coming to the end of my first quarter of a four year adventure.  I am having such a great time with the challenges faced in my classes.  I really enjoy the instructors and how supportive they are.  I have been out of the learning scene for twenty years and am very surprised at how the kids have changed from my generation.  I am learning alot from them but struggle with some of their thought process.  I am looking forward to our final projects that are going to be due within the next few weeks.  I am really gaining alot already and feel certain this was the right choice for me.
